This was my 1st winter on my own learning how to pull a sleigh over in the field. My first task was to practice my stride and just how this new harness felt before I got all hooked up to my new sleigh that Santa left under the Christmas tree for me.
My sleigh and me getting to know each other was great fun, I ran in circles until sleigh caught up to me. Below is the two of us taking a breather,
and Pieter got this wonderful photo which was later turned into a Christmas card after a little photoshop work by Waita.
This is the start of the Christmas card that Waita made from the photo above and to the right. It now graces a cover for Waita's smartphone...
Early in the spring I started back re-learning some show moves once more, over the winter got a little rusty. I can't let my Auntie down, she would be most upset with me. The dogs at the Rested Dog Inn have to work to keep up with all the Inn's traditions.
Mom says I just look too handsome for words, whatever that means. However, 'Handsome' has slowly become my other name over the years, as well as 'Huff - a - lump', 'Aceman', 'Son' and a few others.
My stack is a little loose in this photo, so more practice will be in the cards for this working dog.
I'm learning commands from a distance as well as watching the hand signals which go with my commands. Wow this is getting to be a lot more complicated.
Now that I'm a year older and smarter, I can handle a lot more responsibility in my training schooling. Auntie Karo would be proud of me, I'm sure of that. It makes me smile when I think of her.
