My first Christmas Karo continued to teach me all about the Christmas tree rules as well as all the other house rules, she had rules for every room. I thought my head would burst some days. However, by now I knew not to ignore Karo and to keep sharp during our teaching times. She did not allow any sleeping during class time.

We were not all work and no play when it came to my lessons. Karo loved showing me all about the Christmas tradition at *The Rested Dog Inn*, we each got our own set of Christmas Chest Bells. The dogs who came before my time all walked the village of Steveston during December with their bells on, this was our way to put smiles on the faces of those we met shopping or braving the weather some years. Besides, we all loved to make music with our bells, just a change in our pace and gate would bring on a whole new tune. Here I am a wild and crazy guy getting used to the fabulous sounds I can make, oh my, if you could hear me now. Once I got some control of myself Karo thought it would be time to take me on our first walk about the village of Steveston, we are on the pier where all the fishermen come in. As you can see Karo is keeping a close eye on me making sure I get behind the Christmas bell walk that her Mother Kezzy started and passed on to her and her brothers to do. It was the tradition at The Rested Dog Inn for 25 years, so I felt very honoured to keep this tradition going.
